Histology research can be unpredictable, as research labs often receive diverse samples ranging from regenerative zebrafish hearts to mouse aortic roots and neonatal sheep lungs. Each sample requires specialized handling, processing, sectioning, staining, and often the development of new techniques. Despite these challenges, research histology plays a critical role in advancing basic science research within academic environments. This presentation will explore the principles that guide successful histology core labs and skilled histotechnicians, and how their work can help turn scientific ideas into knowledge. We will also discuss the tribulations that are often encountered in research histology settings, and how they can ultimately lead to triumphs.
CEUs: This histology course is worth 1 continuing education credit. Course is available for 365 days from date of registration.
