The goal of this session is to provide information regarding ovarian cancer from a survivor's perspective. A basic overview of female reproductive organs, the tissues and cell types found within these organs will be presented. Tumor markers and common immunohistochemical stains used for diagnosis will be discussed. The session will conclude with symptoms, treatments and prognosis for ovarian cancer.
CEUs: This histology course is worth 1 continuing education credit. Course is available for 365 days from date of registration.

At the time of this writing, I am working for Bon Secours Integrated Laboratory at St Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. I am planning on retiring in May of 2023. My current workday consists primarily at the gross bench, accessioning and grossing in small biopsies. I have had the opportunity to participate in all aspects of histology with this employer from embedding to microtomy to special and IHC staining.
