This session discusses the currently used histological processing techniques in intestinal research using mouse models. Summarize the known techniques such as gut bundling, strips, and swiss rolls. Also compare the different swiss roll techniques and discuss shortcomings. At the end, offer a summary and alternative approaches and how to optimize each technique depends on the need of the research.

Ka Lam Nguyen is a PHD candidate at the university of Illinois Urbana Champaign. He works in GI research using mouse and zebrafish models and histotechonology for mouse and zebrafish for the past 3 years. He received my HTL (ASCP) certification in Spring of 2023.
