What exactly is grossing? Who is eligible to gross? What kinds of tissue can a histotech gross? These questions and more will be addressed with examples and current regulations. Basics of tissue triage will be addressed including frozen sections and touch preps. Additional discussion will be included on FNAs, snap freezing, and sending out specimens. Finally, frozen sections will be compared and contrasted with paraffin sections.
